Bonnie Bouliane is an Ottawa mother of Benoit Bouliane, and she knows what it’s like to leave a preemie baby in a hospital’s care.
Benoit’s premature birth was a complete surprise to Bouliane — her water broke at 25 weeks and although the baby managed to stay inside for 10 more days, that was hardly any time to prepare.
“I thought it was over,” she said. “I didn’t think he was going to make it.”
Bouliane had gone through three unsuccessful pregnancies prior to Benoit.
“My husband and I were hopeful but we were both prepared for the worst.”
